VC collaborating on IP Acceleration program for Startups (VC-IPAS)
The JPO is strengthening its support for startups.
One of its support measures, “IP Acceleration program for Startups (IPAS)” has been underway since 2018. Under IPAS, IP mentoring teams consisting of business experts and IP experts are dispatched to startups directly.
And this year, in addition to IPAS, the JPO is now piloting the “VC collaborating on IP Acceleration program for Startups (VC-IPAS)”. Under VC-IPAS, IP experts are dispatched to venture capital investment firms. According to the JPO, VC-IPAS can support startups through venture capital investment firms that invest in startups. During the course of 2023, VC-IPAS will dispatch IP experts to ten venture capital investment firms.
