Practice Areas
Mr. Karakawa handles a wide range of domestic and international matters in corporate law, M&A, and governance, as well as general business legal affairs, based on a deep understanding of each client’s business characteristics and background. He has a strong reputation for providing practical legal advice tailored to a company’s specific industry and growth stage, and possesses extensive experience in dispute resolution, including negotiations and litigation.
In his core practice areas—including restructuring, intellectual property, competition law, and internal investigations/compliance—he provides multifaceted support from a perspective that accounts for internal decision-making processes and practical business sensibilities. This approach is informed by his previous secondment to a leading domestic manufacturer and his experience working at law firms in the United States and Europe. In international matters especially, he is widely engaged in cases involving overlapping legal issues, ranging from cross-border M&A and restructuring to global regulatory compliance and legal risk management for overseas operations.
Having earned an MBA in 2025, he strives to provide advice that closely aligns with the realities of business by integrating legal expertise with an insight into management strategy and organizational structure.
