梶並 彰一郎 Shoichiro Kajinami

Shoichiro Kajinami has experienced 100+ international and domestic intellectual property (“IP”) dispute cases (litigation, invalidation trial and custom procedure for injunction against imports) including patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright in Japan.

Especially, he is strong at cases related to technical issues because he has technical background: obtaining Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Waseda University where he mainly studied semiconductor related to clean energy, although the number of lawyers with technical background is very small in Japan.

Also, he obtained IP LL.M from the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle with “Academic Excellence Award” and then experienced U.S and European practices as a foreign intern at a U.S. law firm (Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman) in New York and a European law firm (Taylor Wessing) in Munich for around 18 months.

He has the most experience in IP field among Japanese lawyers with similar years of experience.

In addition, Shoichiro often offers IP lectures in Japanese and English at universities (Hitostubashi University, Kobe University, Waseda University and Gakushuin University), Japan Patent Attorneys Association and other organizations.
